What Attracts Spiders to Your Home?

Spiders are typically drawn indoors by the shelter, peace, and reliable food sources that homes provide. According to entomologist Professor Matt Bertone from North Carolina State University, it’s wise to leave household spiders alone. In a study analyzing arachnid populations in around 50 homes in North Carolina, Bertone and his team discovered that spiders are ubiquitous, often hiding in corners or under eaves, yet most remain out of sight and cause no disturbance.

Bertone emphasizes, “I know it might be hard to convince you, but let me try: Don’t kill the next spider you see in your house.” He provides several compelling reasons to spare these creatures.
