Harriet Sperling is settling into royal life. Just days after she and Queen Elizabeth’s grandson, Peter Phillips, tied the knot, the couple made their first royal appearance as a married couple—and the NHS nurse quietly debuted a brand new name for the occasion. The pair appeared as part of the official royal procession at Royal Ascot, and according to the official carriage list, Harriet was listed as “Mrs. Peter Phillips.” Her name badge also reportedly bore the same name.

Harriet and Peter, who is Princess Anne’s son, married in a private ceremony on June 6 in Kemble, Cirencester. The bride wore a white lace gown by Emilia Wickstead and a Pragnell bridal tiara inspired by her mother-in-law. She also carried a bouquet inspired by the flowers carried by Elizabeth at her wedding.

The couple reportedly met at a sporting event in 2024 and went public with their relationship later that year. They announced their engagement in August 2025. Peter was previously married to Autumn Kelly, with whom he shares two daughters, Savannah and Isla, while Harriet was married to fitness instructor Antonio St. John Sperling, with whom she shares daughter Georgia. All three of the couple’s daughters served as bridesmaids at the wedding.

For her first appearance as a royal, Harriet wore a powder blue dress by Kate Middleton-favored brand Suzannah London, along with a matching Jane Taylor hat. She carried an Anya Hindmarch pearl clutch, and completed the look with white heels.
Although this may be her first Ascot as a member of the royal family, Harriet also joined Peter at the event last year, when she wore a butter yellow gown and a matching hat.
