How to Easily Prepare Your Rose Cuttings
Start by selecting a healthy rose stem that is neither too soft nor too hard. Using clean pruning shears, cut the stem at an angle to a length of about 6 to 8 inches.
Next, locate a bud and make a clean cut just below it to prepare the cutting for use.
Then, take a fleshy aloe vera leaf and slice it in half lengthwise. Gently insert the base of the rose cutting into the gel-like pulp. This direct contact is a crucial step in the process.
The Waiting Game… and the Magic
Once the cutting is placed in the aloe, set the entire assembly in a jar with a little water. Keep it in a bright location, avoiding direct sunlight. Now, all that’s left to do is wait—this phase typically lasts three to four weeks.
Gradually, encouraging signs will appear: the cutting remains firm, and a bud begins to swell… these are all indicators that rooting is underway.
