Still, Arnett couldn’t get over the line of questioning itself. “I’m sorry,” he responded. “The question is, ‘Did I poo in front of Amy?’ And you’re saying that don’t have manners?”

The 56-year-old then refuted Hayes’ claim that it was a “good question,” noting, “I refuse to answer that. It’s none of your f–king business.”

It was then that Bateman remembered they had a mystery guest—later revealed to be Amy Adams—listening into their conversation.

“We do,” Arnett said with a laugh, “and she’s going to be outraged by this, by the way.”

Adams, in fact, played into the bit, telling the group after being revealed as the guest, “I’m so glad I entered during this conversation. I’m fine with poop talk, absolutely.”

As for Poehler and Arnett, while the pair don’t often discuss each other publicly, they’ve maintained a friendly relationship over the years. In fact, she’s even been a surprise guest on SmartLess.

And when her podcast Good Hang was nominated against SmartLess at the Golden Globes, Arnett revealed that she celebrated the noms with her him and his friends.

“I mean, Amy texted Sean and me this morning saying, ‘We all got nominated for Golden Globes, let’s party,’” he told Rolling Stone in December. “And then she said, ‘I don’t have Bateman’s number, that’s probably for the best.’”
